Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about HomeBuddies.

What ages is HomeBuddies designed for?

HomeBuddies is designed for children ages 5-14, with content specifically tailored to different age groups. Our learning modules adjust in complexity and presentation based on the child's age and ability level. Parents can set up profiles for multiple children of different ages, and each child will receive age-appropriate content.

For younger children (ages 5-8), content focuses on foundational skills with more interactive and game-based learning. For older children (ages 9-14), content becomes more detailed with project-based learning and deeper subject exploration.

How do I add another child to my account?

To add another child to your HomeBuddies account:

  1. Log in to your parent account
  2. Go to Settings > Profile
  3. Scroll down to the "Connected Children" section
  4. Click the "Add Child" button
  5. Fill in your child's details including name, age, and grade level
  6. Optionally upload a profile picture for your child
  7. Save the changes

Your new child profile will be immediately available, and you can switch between children's accounts using the profile selector in the top navigation.

Can I download content for offline use?

Yes, Premium subscribers can download certain learning modules, worksheets, and activities for offline use. To download content:

  1. Navigate to the module or resource you want to download
  2. Look for the download icon (↓) in the top right corner
  3. Select "Download for Offline Use"
  4. Choose which components you want to download

Downloaded content can be accessed through the "My Downloads" section in your child's dashboard. Note that progress tracking for offline content will sync when you reconnect to the internet.

Free users have limited offline downloads (2 per month), while Premium subscribers have unlimited downloads.

How do the reward systems and stickers work?

HomeBuddies uses a multi-tiered reward system to motivate children:

  • XP (Experience Points): Earned by completing learning activities, quizzes, and daily challenges. XP contributes to level progression.
  • Levels: As children earn XP, they progress through levels, unlocking new content and features.
  • Stickers: Special achievements earn collectible stickers that are stored in the child's Sticker Book. Stickers are categorized by subject and rarity.
  • Badges: Awarded for milestone achievements like completing a full subject module or maintaining a study streak.

Parents can view their child's rewards in the Progress section of the dashboard. You can also set up custom rewards by connecting real-world privileges to in-app achievements in the Parental Controls section.

What's the difference between Free and Premium plans?

HomeBuddies offers both Free and Premium subscription options:
